Investigating the plant life cycle

On Friday we noticed that some of the seeds the children planted have begun to sprout. The children observed the small leaves and shoots coming out of the soil. We presented an opportunity later in the day to explore what is happening underneath the soil. We read a book about how plants grow and then planted some more seeds, this time in baggies with cotton balls. We explained that the children will be able to see what happens to the seed because we can see into the bag.
